The Business Symposium is a VIP event that explores the intersection of technology, creativity, and business and will take place at the JW Marriott Los Angeles L.A. LIVE . It features speakers from a range of industries and backgrounds, allowing you to explore the future of innovation, design, and technology.

The Business Symposium covers topics of importance to senior managers who want to know how emerging technologies shape and affect business. It features keynote speakers, panel discussions, and plenty of opportunities to network and build relationships.

Elizabeth Baron is Vice President, Immersive Solutions for Silverdraft Supercomputing. She has been the driving force in the development and deployment of global, collaborative immersive paradigms for industrial design and engineering. She focuses on the use of disruptive technology solutions to solve workflow and visualization challenges with enterprise partners to apply creative and elegant immersive solutions that connect knowledge with experience for cross-functional teams.

Paul Salvini (Sunday, 28 July)
Paul Salvini is the Chief Executive Officer of the Accelerator Centre, a leading technology incubator located in the University of Waterloo’s David Johnston Research and Technology Park. He is also Waterloo’s Associate Vice-President, Research Commercialization. Formerly Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Christie Digital Systems Canada Inc. and CTO at Side Effects Software, Paul has led award-winning teams of engineers and software developers in bringing to market advanced visualization, simulation and display technologies.

Natalie Rountree graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science with a focus in digital animation. In addition to her role as SIGGRAPH 2019 Adaptive Technology Co-Chair, Natalie is currently working on her blog “Disability Champion,” whose mission is to eliminate disability stigmas one day at a time.

Dr. Diane Gromala designs and builds innovative, interactive health technologies and tests them in a two-pronged approach: with health experts in clinical domains and in patients’ homes. As the founding director of the Pain Studies Lab, Dr. Gromala and her team collaborate with health experts in pain medicine, neuroscience, psychology, and kinesiology.

Dirk Reiners is a faculty member at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UALR) and the Chief Scientist of the Emerging Analytics Center (EAC). He has worked in many areas of Virtual Reality in different places over the last 25 years and is now focusing, together with colleagues from UALR and from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), on different ways of using Virtual Reality to put put users in other people's shoes to induce empathy.

Vern is a decorated U.S. Army veteran and professor of higher education. She has over two decades of experience in telecommunications systems and emerging technologies. As professor of practice at the College of Information and Cyberspace, National Defense University, she leads teams that develop and deliver curriculum in technology, policy, and executive leadership to senior-level government officials.
