Accessibility

The convention center is handicap accessible. If you have special needs or requirements, please contact Conference Management at: confadmin@siggraph.org.

Food Services

A variety of food truck vendors and concessions are available throughout the convention center and outdoor plaza space.

Wireless Internet Access

Free wireless access is available during SIGGRAPH 2019 in all conference locations within the Los Angeles Convention Center (except in the Exhibit Hall). The official network name is “s2019” and there is no password. Please note that wireless networking is provided as a benefit to attendees, but availability is not guaranteed. Users should also be aware of security considerations when using any unencrypted, public-access wireless network.

Luggage and Coat Check

Luggage and Coat check services are available in the Image Quest Plus Business Center at the Los Angeles Convention Center throughout the conference week. There is a $5 fee for each item up to four hours and a $10 fee for each item dropped off for more than four hours. Late fees for items not picked up at the conclusion of the day will apply.

Nursing Mothers Room

The First Aid Station in South Hall Lobby has a private room reserved for breastfeeding mothers. There is also a nursing room in the First Aid Station in West Hall also. Both are available during the conference days.

Bookstore

BreakPoint Books offers books, CDs, and DVDs on computer animation, graphic design, gaming, 3D graphics, modeling, and digital artistry. The bookstore features recent books by SIGGRAPH 2019 speakers and award winners.

First Time at SIGGRAPH

Pathfinders is a volunteer group dedicated to mentoring first-time conference visitors. They can explain all of the SIGGRAPH programs and venues, and help you build a schedule for the week based on your own personal skills and interests.  Visit the Pathfinder booth in South Lobby, or connect via email: siggraphfirsttime@siggraph.org

Throughout the week, the Pathfinders booth is an on-site information hub for what’s happening both inside and outside of the Conference!  Volunteers can answer any questions you may have about how to maximize your SIGGRAPH experience, and the booth will have up-to-the-minute information about all changes and happenings throughout the week.  Stop by and make the most of SIGGRAPH 2019.

Conscious Conference

SIGGRAPH 2019 is a community committed to sharing values of diversity and inclusion and creating a conscious conference experience for all. We have several new initiatives in 2019 that we hope allow more people to take part in our conference and in a more environmentally and socially-conscious way.

  • Childcare. SIGGRAPH has partnered with KiddieCorp to provide on site childcare for families attending the conference. Please note that as of 9 July, due to strong response all childcare spots have been reserved and the waiting list is full. You may check with KiddieCorp on site to see if there have been any cancellations, but at this time, they are no longer accepting reservations.
  • Accessibility. Our convention center host meets Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance so that SIGGRAPH 2019 is prepared to accommodate all visitors. Accessibility services available include:
    • Designated Parking
    • Automatic entry & exit doors along with ADA compliant manual doors
    • Elevators that provide access to all areas of the facility
    • ADA compliant drinking fountains
    • ADA compliant signage for elevators and restrooms throughout the facility
    • ADA compliant restrooms
    • Wheelchair lift in the foyer
  • Seating Accommodations. Those needing special seating accommodations are able to access early seating for the following sessions (Have a service animal? See a student volunteer when choosing your seat so your working dog stays safe!):
    • Opening Ceremony and SIGGRAPH Awards
    • Keynote Session
    • Production Sessions
    • Technical Papers Fast Forward
    • Real Time Live!
  • Going Green. As an LEED ® certified building, the Los Angeles Convention Center (LACC) is committed to reducing its environmental impact. Visit their website to learn more about all of the green initiatives they have implemented to minimize our environmental footprint of LACC events.
  • Gender Neutral Bathrooms. Two gender neutral bathrooms are available throughout the space and each location will be clearly marked.
  • Breastfeeding and Lactation Accommodations. The LACC recognizes public accommodation for all breastfeeding mothers (CA Civil Code 43.3) in any authorized public locations. For those requiring additional privacy, the building offers two lactation rooms:
    • South Hall – Located in the First Aid offices in lobby (main level by Pico Street entrance); has a sink and outlets
    • West Hall – Located in the lobby (outside Hall A, across from Petree C); has outlets and is close to a single-stall restroom if sink is needed

Child Policy

Registration Requirements

All children must register for the conference, regardless of age. Each paid adult may register up to three children, 12 and under at no charge. Children 13 and over will be required to purchase their registration.

Attendance Restrictions

There are no age-based restrictions to attend at Conference. However, children 17 and under must be accompanied by a registered adult at all times.

Lost Children

Unattended and lost children are to be taken to the Conference Management Office (Room 304A) until parents/guardians can be located. Conference Management staff will notify SIGGRAPH security and instruct them to advise their staff with respect to the discovered child, as parents will probably approach Security personnel with inquiries.

Please be aware that parts of the Conference may contain adult content, graphic images, or violence.

Photography and Recording Policies

All registered media and attendees are encouraged to take photos and record video in approved areas at SIGGRAPH 2019. However, it is important to recognize that many of the words, images, sounds, objects, and technologies presented at SIGGRAPH are protected by copyrights or patents. Please respect their intellectual-property rights and do not photograph or shoot video in designated “No Photography” areas.

Photography and recording is prohibited in the Electronic Theater, Production Sessions and the VR Theater, and is at the discretion of presenters for the following programs: ACM SIGGRAPH Award Talks, ACM SIGGRAPH Frontiers Talks, Art Papers, Courses, Exhibition, Exhibitor Sessions, Panels, Real-Time Live!, Talks, Technical Papers, and Technical Papers Fast Forward.

Cameras and Recording Devices

All attendee cameras and recording equipment must be hand-held. Members of the media are
allowed to use tripods and larger equipment, but they must register their devices with the
SIGGRAPH 2019 Media Office in advance of use.

Conference Photographers & Videographers

SIGGRAPH 2019 employs professional photographers and videographers and reserves the right to use all images and videos that these content creators document during the conference for publication and promotion of ACM SIGGRAPH events.

Power Stations

There are three charging stations at SIGGRAPH 2019, one in the Concourse Hallway (between South Lobby and in front of the Business Center); one in the Compass Terrace (in front of the Compass Café) and one in the Petree Hall Corridor (in front of Hall A across from the Galaxy Café).

Special Policies

Computer Animation Theater Electronic Theater Access

To be admitted to the Computer Animation Theater Electronic Theater, you must have a ticket. Your registration badge does not provide access. Please note: There will be only one show this year, Monday, 29 July, 6-8 pm.

Reception Access

To be admitted into the Reception, you must have a ticket. Your badge does not provide access.

Technical Materials and Merchandise

All SIGGRAPH 2019 technical materials and merchandise must be picked up at the conference at Merchandise Pickup. No refunds will be given for items that are not claimed at the conference, nor will unclaimed items be shipped after the conference.
